Géoportail 3D: new data available on line
Géoportail has added new data to improve your 3D browsing. This new data includes: names of communes and place-names, roads, points of particular interest in a given geographical zone etc.
To view this new data, activate the relevant layers in the layer catalogue.
You will find these layers in the following sections: Administrative units, Transport networks, Built-up areas and Altitude.
Communes ("Administrative units" section)
Roads ("Transport networks" section)

This layer enables areas of activity to be displayed; each different type of activity is in a different colour: mauve for education, red for health, grey for trade and industry. |
New vectorial data and TerraExplorerThese new data sets are called "vectorial data": the display is calculated dynamically in real time, so as to ensure smoother, faster on-screen display. To use this type of data, just install (or update) TerraExplorer software. You will automatically access the software download page (if it is not already installed on your computer or needs updating) when you go to the Géoportail 3D viewing page. |
