Videos direct from the INA
The French National Audiovisual Institute (INA) has opened its archives to the public via Géoportail. Some 10,000 video clips about a thousand French communes are now available for viewing.
In Géoportail’s 2D viewing interface, select the “Expert” profile, Expert, ouvrez le thème Services Publics open the Public Services section and click on the INA videos layer.
At scale 1:500 000, the INA icons are displayed. Click on an icon. An info sheet gives you access to a dozen video-clips related to the town selected. There is also a very varied News programme.
A link to the INA website is also included, where you can get more information about your chosen clip. Eventually, every commune in France will have its "souvenir videos".
