Combined viewing of data on Géoportail
View your own data or geographic data supplied by others on Géoportail.
Now you can superimpose information from external servers over Géoportail data, with the combined viewing service.
To access this new service, select the COMBINED VIEWING’ menu from the ‘VIEW’ tab.
Adding a vectorial layer
You can add KML, GPX, or OSM data to Géoportail, as well as data from WFS servers.
Click on the ‘Add a vectorial layer’, icon, name the layer, choose the type and then enter the URL of the data to be imported.
You can choose from the following options:
KML
KML files (Keyhole Markup Language) are XML files that can be used to define geographic data.

GPX
GPX files (GPS eXchange Format) are XML files that you can use to exchange GPS coordinates.
OSM
OSM enables you to incorporate OpenStreetMap data (OpenStreetMap is a project aiming to produce a rights-free map of the world).
WFS
This enables you to add data from WFS cartographic servers.
Adding an image layer
You can also incorporate data from WMS and WMS-C servers.
Click on the ‘Add an image layer’icon, select the type of image, then enter the URL of the data you wish to import.
You can choose from the following options:
WMS
This option allows access to data from a WMS service.
WMS-C (OSGéo)
This option makes it possible to add data from a WMS-C service.
Combined viewing of data from a WMS server.
